Dyad wins at the Golden Rose National Film Festival

The film Dyad (Yana Titova, Bulgaria, 2023) won several awards at the Golden Rose National Film Festival in Varna, Bulgaria. Dyad will be screened in the U18 Youth Film Competition at the FFC in November. The Golden Rose National Film Festival has been held every 2 years since 1974 and is the most important gathering of the Bulgarian film scene.

Dyad tells the story of young Diada, who bullies, steals and sells nude photos of her classmates to earn a plane ticket for a new life with her emigrant mother. Yet her world is full of frustration and betrayal. You can read more about the film here.

At the Golden Rose FF, Dyad won the main prize for Best Feature Film together with the film Blaga's Lessons. Director Yana Titova also won the award for Best Director, while lead actress Margarita Stoykova was awarded the City of Varna Special Award.
