FilmFestival Cottbus cooperates with the Neisse Filmfestival again

From 9th to 14th May, the international Neiße Filmfestival take place for the 14th time. Since 2004, the Filmfestival has provided a forum for young filmmakers from Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany. This year, the festival will be offering cross-border events in the triangle between those three neighboring countries, showing more than 130 feature, documentary and short films in 13 different venues between Großhennersdorf, Liberec, Zgorzelec and Varnsdorf. The FilmFestival Cottbus presents two award-winning films of the “Cottbus film show” - the short film ZMIJ - THE DRAGON by Angela Schuster on a Sorbian mythology against the backdrop of the Second World War won the Cottbus film show in 2016, MĚR - PEACE by Anne - Kathrin Schöler - Rensch and Clemens Schiesko was awarded with the special prize of the foundation for the Sorbian people in 2015. Both films are shot in Lower Sorbian language.

Another joint event of the Neiße Filmfestival and FilmFestival Cottbus is the third workshop of the German-Sorbian network for filmmakers from the region of Lusatia. It takes place on 12th May.
