Ukrainian director Nadiia Parfan's movie to be presented on Berlinale

This year's BERLINALE SHORTS line-up also includes a film by Nadiia Parfan. The Cottbus Film Festival has also worked a lot with the Ukrainian director in the past.

Director Nadia Parfan, together with her partner Ilia Gladshtein, launched the now defunct conceptual film art festival "'86' - Festival of Film and Urbanism" in Slavutych and produced four seasons of the short film painting guide "My Street Films Ukraine" in 2014 and 2018.

Semi-professional filmmakers and amateurs were encouraged to portray their city, their neighborhood, their street under the guidance of film professionals. The focus was on everyday descriptions of places that usually escape general attention - "non-posh cities," as the producers called these places.

The FFC showed "My Street Films Ukraine" programs at the 2014 FFC (Focus "Eastern Europe of Cities", 2017 (Specials) at the 28th FFC (Close-Up UA).

2021 at the FFC her doc THE HEAT SINGERS was in the FFC in the section "Much New in the East", 2017 she was in the jury for the Dialogue Award for Understanding between Cultures.

The Berlinale will take place from February 16 to 26.
