Meet Cottbus in Cannes

From May 17 to 28, the international film industry will meet for the 70th time at one of the world's most important film festivals.

The festival will present a few new films by cult directors and new talents from East Central and Eastern Europe - the new films by Sergej Loznitsa, Kornél Mundruczó and Andrey Zvyagintsev participate in the competition for for the "Golden Palm". The “Un Certain Regárd” presents the new film by Stepjan Kommandarev and the Slovak-Czech debut film OUT.

The "Cinéfondation" shows the Slovak short film ATLANTIS, 2003, the Bosnian LEJLA, produced at the Sarajevo Film Academy, and LÁTHATATLANUL from Hungary while the official short film competition shows KONIEC WIDZENIA from Poland.

The FilmFestival Cottbus will be represented in Cannes by Bernd Buder, programme director (17th – 26th May), Susann Trzewik, programme coordinator and head of the short film competition (18th – 23rd May), and Jörg Taszman, programme consultant for the competition selection (18th -24th May).
