The festival network MOVING IMAGES - OPEN BORDERS (MIOB) will again present the NEW VISION AWARD this year.
This award is dedicated to current European feature films and documentaries that have already had a successful appearance at at least one of the participating festivals. The prize brings the winning film broad international recognition and is awarded by the festival organisers.
The MIOB NEW VISION AWARD is endowed with 3,000 euros and will be awarded during the European Film Festival Palić from 16 to 22 July.

LOOKING FOR VENERA / Në kërkim të Venerës.Kosova, North Macedonia 2021, 108 mins., d: Norika Sefa
The portrait of a young woman from the Kosovo province who wants to get out of her skin. But the family makes sure that she stays true to her role. Punk is played in the village pub, but only as a soundtrack for the old patriarchal pecking order. Norika Sefa films her protagonists' attempts to break out with the utmost closeness, captures the pressure of relatives and acquaintances - it's always crowded in the kitchen when you want to be alone, someone is always looking where you're looking, and someone is always asking "how are you" when the conversation with someone else is just getting exciting. A play of emotions, as sensitive as it is fast-paced, cleverly staged in the only language that is truly universal: body language.
ORCHESTRA / OrkesterSlovenia 2021, 111 mins., d: Matevž Luzar
Across the border and yet at home. A brass band from the Slovenian province tours the Austrian province. The old people drink and make the jokes they always do. The young shake their heads and know that they don't really belong yet, but they will grow older. A pointed portrait of mentality between xx Haneke and "Feuerwehrball", winkingly honest and astutely authentic.

MIOB is the festival network MOVING IMAGES - OPEN BORDERS. The passion for young cinema from Europe and the desire to give it a worthy platform unites the seven members. The Crossing Europe Film Festival Linz (AT), Festival de Sevilla (ES), European Film Festival Palić (RS), Les Arcs European Film Festival (FR), Scanorama European Film Forum (LT), Trieste Film Festival (IT) and the FilmFestival Cottbus (DE) combine many years of competence and experience, which is used to discuss and further develop topics of the future such as audience building, environmental and climate protection, gender and diversity programming and questions of digital communication. This has been recognised and supported by the Creative Europe - MEDIA Programme of the European Union since autumn 2020. In addition to the professional exchange of film festivals, MIOB naturally supports films and their makers.
