The drama CORPUS CHRISTI by Jan Komasa has set a new record with eleven awards at the Polish Film Awards ORŁY (Eagle). Never before in the history of ORŁY, which has been awarded since 1999, has a film won so many prizes. With nominations in 15 of a total of 18 categories, CORPUS CHRISTI had already started the race with clear dominance and has now been awarded, among other things, for best film, best direction and best script.
For the first time, the Polish Film Prize was also awarded in the category Best Make Up. Dariusz Krysiak received this award for KREW BOGA | THE MUTE. The FilmFestival Cottbus showed the historical drama 2019 in the section Polskie Horyzonty.
The nominations for the ORŁY announced on February 5, 2020 were selected by 600 members of the Polish Film Academy from over 72 feature films and 79 documentaries.
KREW BOGA | THE MUTE will be released in German cinemas on March 26, 2020. CORPUS CHRISTI is scheduled for release in Germany on June 11, 2020.
