Anna Jadowska's film WILD ROSES won four prizes at the 27th FilmFestival Cottbus in 2017: the main prize in the Feature Film Competition, the FIPRESCI Prize, the Ecumenical Jury Prize and the leading actress Marta Nieradkiewicz was awarded the prize for outstanding actress. In 2018 Anna Jadowska received the Special Pitch Award, which enabled her to pitch her new project at the 20th East-West co-production market connecting cottbus. In the same year she was also a member of the International Festival Jury of the 28th FFC.

Michal Blaško won the main prize in the short film competition at the FFC 2017 with his graduate film ATLANTIS, 2003. In 2018 he was a member of the same jury in Cottbus again and one year later he made it back into the competition selection with THE MARCH. Michal Blaško is currently working on his feature film debut VICTIM.

#10 of our series EINBLICKE #stillcreative INSIGHTS: Martin Dušek. In his films Martin Dušek takes a pointed look at Czech history, often staged on the verge of farce. He has been a guest at the FFC several times: in 2015 with COAL IN THE SOUL (R: Martin Dušek, Ondřej Provazník) and in 2016 with MEIN KROJ. In 2016 he was also a member of the DIALOGUE jury.
His most recent film, OLD-TIMERS (FFC 2019), which was produced in collaboration with Ondřej Provazník describes the thoughts of revenge of two old men who were targeted by the Czechoslovakian state security during communism.



#9 of our series EINBLICKE #stillcreative INSIGHTS: Luli Bitri gained international fame through her leading roles in the films ALIVE! (director: Artan Minarolli, 2009) and AMNESTY (director: Bujar Alimani, 2011). The Albanian actress is not only a film actress, but is also member of the ensemble at the National Theatre in Tirana. At the 29th FilmFestival Cottbus Luli Bitri was a member of the international jury that awards the prizes in the feature film competition.



Štěpán Altrichter won the prize for best debut film at the FilmFestival Cottbus 2014 with SCHMITKE. In 2019 he presented the film NÁRODNÍ TŘÍDA | NATIONAL STREET in the feature film competition of the 29th FFC. The adaptation of the successful novel of the same name by Jaroslav Rudiš was awarded the "Cottbus to the Cinema" prize to promote the distribution of a festival film. Anna Kazejak won the main prize in the short film competition at the Cottbus Film Festival in 2004 with her film JESTÉS TAM | YOU ARE THERE. After realising numerous films, she returned to Cottbus in 2014 with OBIETNICA | THE WORD in the U18 Youth Film Competition. #7 of our series EINBLICKE #stillcreative INSIGHTS



#6 of our series EINBLICKE #stillcreative INSIGHTS: Danilo Bećković. His feature film debut LITTLE BUDDHO | MALI BUDO was an amazing hit in Serbia in 2014. Two years later JESEN SAMURAJA | THE SAMURAI IN AUTUMN became the most successful feature film in the country. The director, screenwriter and producer was a member of the International Jury at the FilmFestival Cottbus in 2017.



At the 29th FilmFestival Cottbus the German actor Jascha Rust was member of the jury for the Short Film Competition. #5 of our series "EINBLICKE #stillcreative INSIGHTS".



The Bosnian director and screenplay writer Nermin Hamzagić presented his feature film debut FULL MOON as a world premiere at the 29th FilmFestival Cottbus. The film won the prize of the Ecumenical Jury and leading actor Alban Ukaj won the prize as an outstanding actor. The Bosnian film director, screenplay writer and producer Aida Begić sends her video message from Sarajevo. #3 of our series "EINBLICKE #stillcreative INSIGHTS". Begić has already been a guest at the FilmFestival Cottbus several times. At the FFC in 2018 she won the Dialogue Prize for Intercultural Communication with her film NEVER LEAVE ME.



Video message #2 was sent by Ognjen Sviličić (THE VOICE – Feature Film Competition 29th FFC; THESE ARE THE RULES). The Croatian director and screenwriter sends greetings from Zagreb.



The first short film is by Axel Ranisch (DICKE MÄDCHEN, ICH FÜHL MICH DISCO). The director, author, actor and producer hosted the opening of the 27th and 29th FilmFestival Cottbus and is responsible for the festival trailers 2018, 2019 and 2020.
