In only five days, on November 8th, the FilmFestival Cottbus will officially be opened at the venue of the Staatstheater Cottbus. Until then, this year's Festival Trailer should get you excited for six days of finest Eastern European Cinema!
In what has evolved into a festival tradition over the years, the Festival Trailer is produced by a team of students from the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF.
This year's director is Natalia Sinelnikova, with the end result drawing a conceptual link with the Focus programme section, this time around dedicated to Socialist Cuba, in turn marking the commencement of a cycle dedicated to the ways in which filmmakers from both previous and current Socialist states beyond Europe's borders reflect on the everyday challenges and political culture of their homelands.
Natalia Sinelnikova has been studying directing at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF since 2013 and will also be a member of the Jury Debut Film Prize during the 26. FilmFestival Cottbus, which rewards what it considers to be the most promising debut of 2015/2016.
