Our Venues: Spaceflight Planetarium

The space flight planetarium "Juri Gagarin" Cottbus is the cosmic venue of the FFC. The dome of the planetarium becomes a spectacular cinema screen and offers a very special cinema experience.

Here you can watch the stars and starlets of Eastern European cinema.

The planetarium in Cottbus was named after Juri Alexejewitsch Gagarin, the first man in space, and opened on April 26, 1974 after a construction period of almost two years at today's Lindenplatz. The dome hall serves as a projection room, similar to a cinema. Here, projections are made into the hemispherical dome. This often gives the visitor the impression of being right in the middle of the action. Planetariums are mainly used to show the starry sky, regardless of the weather and time of day.
