Young Belarusian film maker Vlada Senkova was awarded the FilmFestival Cottbus Discovery Script Doctoring Award yesterday.

The prize to a value of 5.000 EUR is donated by EastWest Filmdistribution GmbH, Vienna, and consists of counseling services for the development of a script ("script doctoring").

The Cottbus Discovery Script Doctoring Award which is awarded annually at the FilmFestival Cottbus supports directing talents from Eastern Europe. This year's award thus highlights the young film scene in Belarus, as programme director Bernd Buder explains: „We are happy to provide the opportunity to  Vlada Senkova, as a young Belarusian film maker, to further develop one of her new projects. The Belarusian film scene is undergoing an exciting development, but is yet little-known abroad. With this award we also wish to highlight a film nation which we will keep an eye on in the future.“

After premiering in Germany at the FilmFestival Cottbus yesterday, her feature film debut GRAF V APELSINAKH/THE COUNT IN ORANGES will be presented again on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11.00, at Kammerbühne.
