A heart-wrenching divorce drama told from the perspective of twelve-year-daughter Nina, whose world appears to be collapsing around her in a film on the communication barriers in a disintegrating family that is both visually expressive and hard-hitting.

Nina, a soft-spoken twelve-year-old, learns of her parents’ intention to file for divorce from their telephone conversations. Having received assurance that they only want the best for her, she is presented with a fait accompli: she is to move in with her mother and henceforth shuttle between mother and father. Initially unable to believe the depths to which the tone of dialogue between her parents can fall to, she nevertheless holds her tongue until her participation in a swimming championship comes into question, at which point Nina decides to hit the road.

That director Juraj Lehotský learned his trade producing documentary films, learning in the process how to observe in detail, is apparent in this, his second feature film. He also made a wonderful choice in casting for the role of Nina, with Bibiana Nováková delivering a strong debut performance. CF
