The newly constructed building features a total of 7,300 m2 of floor space on seven storeys and was dedicated in 1975. The building was much appreciated by the public because of its aesthetic interior architecture, light and open rooms and the façade that remains remarkable to this day. It continues to provide excellent conditions for access to the various comprehensive collections, including state-of-the-art digital research and information systems.The C. Norwid Library maintains 12 branches in the urban area of Zielona Góra.
The City and Voivodeship Library C. Norwid regularly hosts special exhibitions, book presentations and individual exhibitions. The library has its own publishing house, Pro Libris, and has been publishing a cultural and literary magazine of the same name since 2001, which frequently addresses topics in the field of German-Polish cultural cooperation. The consistent development and expansion of the bibliography of the Lubusz Voivodeship attracts scientists from both Poland and Germany.
