Prominent national and international guests walked the blue carpet of the Staatstheater at the grand opening.

The opening of the 21st FilmFestival Cottbus will be celebrated at Staatstheater Cottbus tonight.

As usual, prominent national and international guests will walk the blue carpet of the Staatstheater. Amongst those, the producer of the opening film The mill and the cross Lech Majewski; the Minister of State at the Foreign Office Cornelia Pieper, the Minister-President of Brandenburg and patron of the film festival Matthias Platzeck as well as the president of the international jury Alexander Rodnyansky, actress Anja Antonowicz and actor Jacob Matschenz.

This years film festival presents ten world premieres, seven international and 43 German premieres. Besides fantastic cinematic discoveries, it is definitely worth attending the festivals fringe program. In the spirit of the ’Weimar Triangle’, visitors will get to experience East European flair paired with French joie de vivre.
