On occassion of the 62nd International Film Festival Berlin 2012 the FilmFestival Cottbus together with connecting cottbus invited to the traditional East European Brunch.

After the festival well-selected program highlights have been performed in Berlin, Potsdam and - for the first time - in Dusseldorf. The Berlin premiere of the Czech-Slovak box-office hit IDENTITY CARD formed on the 7th of November, 2011 the prelude in the cinema Passage, Neukölln. The guests were welcomed by Dr. Christina Frankenberg, provisional leader of the Czech centre Berlin - the cooperation partner of this traditional presentation - as well as by the Cottbus festival manager Roland Rust.

The award winners of the 21st FilmFestival are announced: Beside the two Russian competition films TWILIGHT PORTRAIT and GROMOZEKA the Polish film MY NAME IS KI and SALT WHITE were favourites of the various juries.

The fifth day was all about the preparation of the award ceremony. At the evening charming rbb-entertainer Christian Matthée presented an unforgettable evening with a lot of pleased award winners.

Day Three held the Ecumenic reception where the young Serbian filmmaker Srdan Keca received the Cottbus Discovery Award. In the evening filmguests and friends had a great party at the Jimmys Diner.

The second day of the FilmFestival Cottbus started with a meeting of the organizers of the German-Russian masterclass. In the evening author Uwe Rada read to the audience about the cultural heritage of rivers and later on La Marche taught party people to dance!
