The FilmFestival Cottbus presented its new festival trailer to the public for the first time on Wednesday during the East European Brunch at the Representation of the Land Brandenburg to the Federation in Berlin.
By way of awarding a total of two prizes, the FilmFestival Cottbus, together with the East-West co-production market connecting cottbus (coco), launches itself into the new festival season with the East European Brunch.

From 19th to 22nd January, Bernd Buder, head of the programme department at the FilmFestival Cottbus, will go on a scouting trip to Northern Italy where the Trieste Film Festival will take place.
The croatian comedy THE PRIEST`S CHILDREN by Vinko Brešan already supplied best entertainment in Cottbus. Now it makes a run on the "European Oscar" as the only east-european production in the section comedy.
The main prize goes to Aleksandr Veledinsky for his film THE GEOGRAPHER DRANK HIS GLOBE AWAY. The special prize for Best Director goes to Yury Bykov for his feature film THE MAJOR.
