On 29 April 2025, ETERNITY PACKAGE (ПАКЕТ ВЕЧНОСТ), a film from the 2024 FFC programme, will come to Berlin. The black-humoured grotesque by Bulgarian director Magdalena Ilieva will be shown at 6 pm as part of the Bulgarian Feature Film Week - with free admission at the Brotfabrik Berlin.
The bitterly wicked comedy tells the story of Bobka, an unsuccessful undertaker in a corrupt small town, who becomes entangled in an absurd deal with an aged socialist diva after the death of his mother. What follows is a ludicrous roundelay of power, provincial farce and Italo-Western echoes - completed by music that unmistakably quotes Ennio Morricone.
ETERNITY PACKAGE was shown at the 2024 Cottbus Film Festival in the Spectrum section.
