The FFC can rejoice again: many of the films presented at the 2024 festival have been nominated for the most important Czech film award, the Český lev (Czech Lion). Particularly outstanding: WAVES by Jiří Mádl, which tops the list with 14 nominations.
Successful FFC films among the nominees
In addition to the historical drama WAVES, which focuses on the events of the Prague Spring of 1968, the tragicomedy OUR LOVELY PIG SLAUGHTER by Adam Martinec also shone with 10 nominations. The other nominated films MARCH TO MAY (2 nominations), YEAR OF THE WIDOW (2 nominations), BUZZ OF THE EARTH, LIMITS OF EUROPE, 3 MWh and WEEDS (1 nomination each) underline the high quality of the FFC programme.
Record-breaking competition
With a total of 24 categories and 93 productions judged from 2024, the 32nd edition of the Český-lev Awards promises to be a high-calibre event. The festive gala evening will take place on 8 March 2025 at the Rudolfinum in Prague and will be broadcast live on ČT1.
