The Sarajevo Film Festival took place for the 30th time this year. Founded during the siege of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Yugoslavian wars, it quickly developed into the most important festival in the region. It still plays this role today and has also earned itself a reputation as an international player. The extensive film programme is flanked by the industry meeting point ‘Cinelink’.

‘The Sarajevo Film Festival offers ideal opportunities to search for the films of tomorrow and refresh networking contacts in one of the most fascinating cities in Europe,’ says Bernd Buder, FFC Programme Director, who has been in Sarajevo every year since 2003 to research films and projects.
Some of the films that have now been screened here will also be shown in Cottbus at the beginning of November, including the Serbian-Croatian-Italian DWELLING AMONG THE GODS (Competition Feature Film), the Romanian short film @TIK TOK_COWBOY, the Cannes prize-winner THE MAN WHO COULD NOT REMAIN SILENT (both Competition Short Film) and the North Macedonian mafia story KILL THE CHILDREN FIRST (Spectrum).
