Two FFC films nominated for the Oscars!

Two films that were presented at last year's 34th FFC have been nominated for the Oscars today!

The acclaimed animated film FLOW has made it into two categories: Best International Film and Best Animated Film. The haunting film was screened as part of the FFC's Spectrum section, which is known for its focus on innovative and boundary-pushing narratives.

The short film THE MEN WHO COULD NOT REMAIN SILENT is also attracting international attention. The moving film is nominated in the Best Short Film category. At the FilmFestival Cottbus, the film was screened out of competition in the Short Film competition and has already impressed audiences and experts alike.

With these successes, the FFC proves once again that it is an important platform for exceptional cinema from Central and Eastern Europe. The Oscars will be awarded on March 3rd, 2025 - we are keeping our fingers crossed for both films and are excited to see if they take home the coveted trophies!
