The award-winning debut film U R THE UNIVERSE by Pavlo Ostrikov will be released in German cinemas on September 4th, 2025. The film was screened at the 34th FilmFestival Cottbus in 2024, where it won two major awards: the Special Prize for Best Director and the Audience Award.
U R THE UNIVERSE is a poetic and existentialist sci-fi story. Ostrovik's feature film debut tells the story of Andriy, a Ukrainian space trucker who, after the explosion of Earth, waits for rescue as supposedly the last human being, until a radio message from a French space station pulls him out of his isolation.
Now this great film is finally coming to cinemas – presented by the cooperative distributor Drop-Out Cinema, supported by the Eberhard Schöck Foundation and in cooperation with the Ukrainian Film Festival Berlin.
