SECTION: Specials

31FFC Sektions Button Specials

Everything for the special look! The SPECIALS bring together extraordinary film series.

Under the title "What's Left?", one series asks about the remnants of the economic and political, but also false nationalistic promises of the 1990s and early 00s. What is left of the hopes of that time? How is Eastern Europe coming to terms with the "turn of the times"? Another special asks about the representation of women's roles in the cinema of socialism - and what has become of these role models today. The fulldome program will again be shown at the Cottbus Planetarium. Selected films by Cottbus filmmaker Ralf Schuster will be shown in the upstairs cinema. Current Polish films about everyday life in the so-called "province", are shown in Polskie Horyzonty: Ups and Downs between village and small town, universal and true to life.
