The true story of the blind piano genius Mieczyslaw "Mietek" Kosz. From the loss of his eyesight at the age of 12, via the discovery of his virtuoso skills, to his tragic death. An emotional roller coaster ride on determination, a fatal crash, resurrection in the face of love and the great music of the Polish jazz legend.
After losing his sight, his mother puts him in the care of nuns. And yet the boy refuses to accept his fate. In a home for the blind Mietek realises that music can be a way for him to see the world anew. On discovering jazz he has only one goal: to become the best jazz pianist in Poland. A rapid ascent follows, one that extends far beyond the borders of his homeland. Almost at the same time, however, a fight against his inner demons begins: loneliness, addiction and lovelessness and a descent into alcoholism. Surprisingly, hope springs forth in the person of charismatic singer Zuza, who will change his life forever. A film about the price you have to be willing to pay if you want to make your dreams come true; at times monumentally drastic and bitter before reverting to the frivolous and funny. A roller coaster of emotions with the simply outstanding Dawid Ogrodnik in the lead role. And above all, the (re-)discovery of Kosz's wonderful music. JJ
