The prize for the best crime, action or gangster film in Zielona Góra is awarded by representatives of the local bar association. This year it went to 25 YEARS OF INNOCENCE / 25 LAT MEWINNOŚCI. STRAWA TOMKA KOMENDY. Jan Holoubek's film about a judicial scandal in which an alleged murderer spent 25 years in prison innocently will also be screened at the 31st FilmFestival Cottbus. Other awards went to Iwona Siekierzyńska's feature film debut AMATEURS / AMATORZY (Best Director), Roma Gąsiorowska (Best Acting Performance for her role in AMATEURS / AMATORZY), actor Krzysztof Globisz for Lifetime Achievement and Julian Świeżewski for his performance as Best Supporting Actor in SWEAT. Magnus von Horn's film about the emotional ups and downs of an influencer screened in the FFC's Youth Film Competition in 2020.
The Kozzi Film Festival in Cottbus' Polish twin city is one of the FFC's festival partners. In this context, the FFC presented its two last year's competition winners THE CONFERENCE and I NEVER CRY. During the 31st FFC, the Kozzi Film Festival will again present a title from its programme in Cottbus and the FFC will be a guest in Zielona Góra with a small selection of films.
The Kozzi Festival, founded in Kargowa ten years ago, combines film, theatre and readings. Current Polish feature films are shown in two competitions. One of the competitions is devoted exclusively to action and crime films and thus pays tribute to the event's namesake Maciej "Kozzi" Kozłowski. Above all, the actor, who died in 2010 and was born in Kargowa, became known for his roles in crime films.
