THREE LOVES tells of the subtle transitions between love, loss, and obsession. What begins as Jan's longing for closeness to his ex-wife soon finds itself transformed into a game of surveillance, manipulation, and dependence. In the triangular constellation between the ex-couple and Lena's new love, it becomes unclear who is competing with whom and which power games are currently dominating. Director Łukasz Grzegorzek skilfully combines erotic moments with thriller elements and B-movie aesthetics to create a blend unusual for Polish cinema; one that ironically plays with genre conventions. In doing so, Grzegorzek experiments with tension and emotional directness, demonstrating the extent to which the fault lines of modern relationships can be dissected using the forms of expression offered up by entertainment cinema.

Łukasz Grzegorzek - Łukasz Grzegorzek is a screenwriter and director. He is a former professional tennis player and a lawyer by profession. His debut film Kamper had its premiere at the 2016 Karlovy Vary IFF and won the Discovery Award and the Raindance Festival in London. His film A Coach’s Daughter was recognised as the Best Youth Film at the 2018 Cottbus IFF. For My Wonderful Life he was awarded Best Director at the 2021 Polish Film Fes val in Gdynia, nominated for Polityka Passports and received the Empik Discovery Award. The film ranked among the TOP 10 most-watched non-English language films worldwide on Ne lix. Grzegorzek directed Season 3 of the series The Teacher. He is a member of the Directors’ Guild of Poland. He teaches directing at the Łódź Film School.
