Every approach that Rita makes towards Pasha pushes Lenta a step closer to exasperation, whilst Dima is clearly no better at dealing with disappointment. As a result the two youngsters form a union of discontent, whilst the growing affection between the two counselors sees them test the limits of what is acceptable at camp.

Wonderfully shot and yet minimal in terms of dialogue, Vladimir Beck's second feature film speaks of the end of innocence. The film's young adolescents are, for the first time, faced with the possibility of sacrificing friendship for love; though jealousy and the highs and lows of first sexual encounters might appear mundane for this age bracket, Beck manages to tell a poetic tale and create a magical atmosphere sure to inspire the viewer.
