A woman yearns for the return of her husband, conjuring up in her memory the times they spent together. Will the experience of war destroy the love that binds the two of them?

This short and nevertheless remarkably touching film portrays the love of a woman for her absent husband, who would appear to be a soldier, though the viewer actually never sees him in battle. Each of her wistful thoughts begins with “vernis”/”be back”, after which she proceeds to fondly remember another episode from a shared past.

Indeed he returns home in good health, but the mental scars of war aren't far below the surface. Nevertheless she does everything within her power to assist his readjustment to a life lived together. EG

Andriy Kyryllov - born 1980 in Tscherniwzi, USSR. He graduated in acting and worked as an actor for TV and theatre productions before studying directing at the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Film and TV. To date Kyryllov has mainly directed music clips and experimental short films.
