Russisches Haus Berlin

The Russian House of Science and Culture is an event and cultural centre in Friedrichstraße 176-179 in Berlin's Mitte district. It was opened on 5 July 1984 as the House of Soviet Science and Culture.

The Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin is the largest cultural institute operating abroad in the world and occupies the largest building erected for the purpose of representing culture and science. The annual number of RHSC visitors and participants of its events and programmes amounts to almost 200 thousand people.

The Russian House of Science and Culture promotes the learning and dissemination of the Russian language abroad, maintains contacts with Russian citizens living abroad, provides a comprehensive picture of Russian culture, domestic and foreign policy, science and society, and contributes to cooperation between Russian and German science and education institutions.

The building contains rooms for exhibitions, conferences, concerts and a cinema. Shops are located on the ground floor.
