Jack Strong

The case of Ryszard Kuklinski was one of the
most spectacular espionage cases of the Cold
War: To this day he‘s still regarded by many as
a traitor, others see him as a hero however.
How did the whole affair come to pass? As
one of the Polish General Staff‘s most talented
offi cers, he was charged with preparing the
(eventually shelved) “Shield 68” manoeuvre, in
the course of which he unsuspectingly revealed
the Warsaw Pact‘s intention to conquer Western
Europe. Within this context all Poland and
East Germany were supposed to do was absorb
the West‘s opening salvo of atomic attacks.
Thus Jack Strong was born.
