The digit “8” figures conspicuously in fateful dates in Czech history. 1618 – the Defenestration of Prague; 1918 – the founding of the new state of Czechoslovakia, 1938 – the signing of the Munich Agreement. “So what,” this documentary of 1968 asks passers-by, “does this year’s ‘8’ hold in store?”
