On 8 May 2004 the Łódź football team Widzew lost to its rival LKS a match that clinched the team’s relegation. After the game some hundred hooligans attacked a student campus near the stadium, and a street fight began with the police, who finally shot live ammunition into the crowd, injuring passers-by as well as rioting hooligans. More than 70 people were injured, and among the several fatal casualties was one Widzew fan. The film traces the violence back to its roots in the shared childhood of the two heroes Tomek and Kacper.
