Accompanied by words from Krabat the camera explores the untouched nature of the Spreewald forest. A parable on civilisation's destructive power which, when originally released, led to a dispute with the GDR's minister of the environment.

Peter Rocha - – born 1942 in Gotha, he this year passed
away in Potsdam. Studied directing at the HFF,
specialising in documentary film. His Lusatia
trilogy consisted of HOCHWALDMÄRCHEN
(1987), LEBEN AM FLIESS (1989) and
SCHMERZEN DER LAUSITZ (1991).
