WIR SIND SCHON ECHTE POLEN - DIE LIPKA-TATAREN IN OSTPOLEN

They are proud Polish citizens; and yet they are also Tatars. Great importance is still attached to this fact by the few descendants of the Tatars who immigrated to this area in the 14th century. This is also due to their religion. The Tatars are Muslims and therefore an anomaly in otherwise Catholic Poland. They hope for a healthy coexistence with the majority as well as the preservation of their traditions. The film portrays these people and their commitment to that which makes them distinctive.
