For this film Til Schweiger brought together a cast of celebrity German actors, from Dieter Hallervorden via Samuel Finzi and Mehmet Kurtuluş to Katharina Thalbach. With 7,2 million viewers, HEAD FULL OF HONEY made it into the Top 10 of German productions since 1968, where it remains the only drama with a serious core among adventure films and comedies, from the Winnetou Western to the “Schoolgirl Report”. In the meantime the film has also been successfully adapted as a stage play, the popularity of the US remake with Nick Nolte in the leading role fell short of expectations however. HEAD FULL OF HONEY was shot in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, South Tyrol, Venice and; in Prignitz, in the state of Brandenburg. BB
