An old woman alone in her apartment, surrounded by memories. She tells a visitor about her life: full of work and a togetherness that was in good hands in the Sorbian community. Only to then fade away together with the language. Loneliness remains.

Based on "So bin ich die Letzte" by the Sorbian author Beno Budar, this work was one of Toni Bruk's few feature films, and the only one from the DEFA period. The work stands out both with its precisely narrated tales of male and female existence, as well as its cinematic, often playful flashback design. When, however, the old woman speaks of the intrusion of all things German into the Sorbian language community the picture is turned on its head: a striking symbol of painful destruction.
