HR, 2022, 108 Min

A shepherd-rapper drama that comes complete with a socio-political side swipe. Adam has a stammer and is therefore a sorrowful outsider. One day however he finds that his stuttering stops when he starts rapping in anger. With his scream-rapped and brutally honest lyrics, he becomes a YouTube sensation. Will his music offer him the chance to leave the bleak village existence behind?

Shy yet handsome Adam has a stutter and is abused by his father. He processes these experiences and his childhood, which was overshadowed by his father's alcohol addiction and violent outbursts, in his rap lyrics. While Adam drives the flock of sheep down country lanes or takes care of the animals in the barn, he roars out his anger and, together with a group of Roma, makes a name for himself in the hip-hop world. There he becomes a YouTube sensation as the "rapper with the mask" behind which he conceals his identity. In a work almost daring in its jagged editing style and featuring documentary-like camera work, director Szilárd Bernath paints a thought-provoking picture of a young man who succeeds in escaping his everyday existence with his creativity rather than numbing his despair with drugs and alcohol. Then Adam gets an invitation to the biggest talent show in the country. Will he take the chance of a lifetime?
