Pandemic coming-of-age noir with wry humour. Finally, attendance classes again! But teenager Jan is bullied at his new school. The mother likes to drink one too many, which is not helping. The only thing that does is a friendship with the thug from next door...

FSK12

14-year-old Jan and his newly divorced mother Maja had hoped for more from their move to a small town. After several lockdowns, there are finally face-to-face classes again, but Jan's joy at his new school does not last long. Harassment pours in - and his 45-year-old mother, who should actually be able to help her son in the best possible way as a school psychologist, prefers to shoot herself down. So Jan's thug neighbour comes just in time. But when the mother's escapades and the violent outbursts of the new "friend" come to a head, the situation threatens to get out of hand. Director, screenwriter and author Nejc Gazvoda tells the story of a dysfunctional mother-son relationship and the resulting vulnerability to bullying with raw toughness and yet a loving eye. Above all, however, he urges us not to suppress the collective trauma of the pandemic and its psychological consequences.
