Rudolf Havlik
Czech Republic, 2023, 100 Min

Romcom in picturesque setting: a conflicted married couple has to get it together again in order to survive after a plane crash on a deserted island in the Gulf of Thailand. This popular hit, which uses a lot of situational comedy to show the seemingly insurmountable differences between men and women, attracted 300,000 viewers in the Czech Republic.

Richard and Alice have been married for over 20 years and are treating themselves with a luxury vacation in Thailand. When Richard unexpectedly declares that he wants a divorce, Alice wants to leave immediately. They charter a rickety private plane, which then crashes on a deserted island. There the two simply have to function together again in order to survive. Director Rudolf Havlik relies entirely on his two stars: Jiří Langmajer plays the initially insensitive bully who slowly learns to approach his wife again, Jana Plodková embodies the surprised, hurt wife who gradually gets herself together. Entertaining marital comedy that literally tells the story of the marital reconnection as an adventure film.

The film will be shown in the Weltspiegel in the original language with English subtitles and simultaneously translated into German. Headphones are available free of charge in exchange for a deposit in the cinema foyer.

The film will be shown at Obenkino in the original language and with English subtitles. No translation into German!
