time of the Fishes
Nineteen-year-old Robert wants to make
music, ideally as far as possible from the
haunting architecture of Halle-Neustadt.
He wants to take his beloved Jana with
him, she however has sworn not to leave
her brother and thus the "The King's Children"
are damned to remain apart. As a socio-
critical punk romance this is a film far
removed from the prevalent film and television
clichés of recent years. The poetic realism,
the rigorousness of the protagonists'
outlook on life and the helplessness of a
society trying to deal with the latter
evidently unsettled a society still elated by
Germany's football fairy tale of 2006.

studies at the Humboldt University, Berlin
and directing at the HFF "Konrad Wolf" in
Potsdam-Babelsberg, the latter under the
guidance of the likes of Helke Misselwitz.
Filmed his short documentary UNTER UNS
IST JAPAN in Lusatia. ZEIT DER FISCHE is
his feature film début.
