Germany, 2015, 31 Min

Wheelchair user Viktoria is training for the Paralympics. When, slowly but surely, she appears to be able to feel her legs again, she is unsure as to how to proceed; is the recovery of her ability to walk valuable enough for her to give up on her dreams of gold?

Elite sportswoman Viktoria is preparing for international competitions. She has been wheelchair-bound ever since she had an accident. Although her trainer is forever criticising her performance levels, she believes in herself. Her self-perception is put to the test however when, as if by miracle, she is gradually able to feel her legs again. Her physiotherapist, the only person aware of these changes, encourages her to be open with her trainer and yet Viktoria is undecided. Should she be satisfied with her new-found ability to walk and give up on her dreams of a medal?

This poignant film, heavily indebted to the wonderful performance of the main actress Anjorka Strechel, takes a closer look at the construction of self. JN/AS
