5 Years in Polish Animated Music Videos

O!PLA – THE FESTIVAL OF POLISH ANIMATION is an independent cultural project aimed at stepping up levels of communication between local artists and the general public. The festival programme, the outcome of which is decided by the audience, is screened in various cities across Poland; in 2016 the number of venues amounted to 69.

The programme of animated film, compiled anew by the festival organisers on an annual basis, is this year entitled 5 YEARS IN POLISH ANIMATED MUSIC VIDEOS and features animated music videos from the previous five years; these range from classic works to video art and cover a variety of genres, from jazz to techno.

In recent years Polish filmmakers have made a name for themselves on the international stage, having produced videos for the likes of Basement Jaxx (Tomek Ducki), Lorn (Bartosz Wojda), Animal Collective and Jay-Z (Dawid Krępski). This year's programme features a handful of award-winning animated works, with KATACHI taking awards in Georgia, Croatia, Poland and Russia.
