The historic Marie-Seebach-Foundation in Weimar, a nostalgically beautiful retirement home for German stage artists. In her own unique way Misselwitz draws closer to the residents; gentle, attentive to detail, willing to delve deeper into and scrutinise every utterance in order to reach more profound levels of retrospection. The protagonists have lived to see a great deal and thus have many a tale to tell; Much however is obscured by feelings of horror and pain. Stage life, marriage, disease, the nazi era. Franz Lehar, Richard Tauber, Emmy Göring. And time and again the view from the window on to the Ettersberg mountain range.
