A small group lingers in a remote farm while the war rages around the corner. Their already brittle emotions get shaken up with the arrival of two men, chased by the mystified and vengeful Leader. The situation deteriorates and the events following invite to delve into surreality…

The slow-paced and minimalistic ROUKLI is a new stimulating work of a self-taught Veiko Õunpuu. The film made trough the improvisations and with the assets of crowdfunding is the manifestation of the creative freedom. GS

Veiko Õunpuu - born 1972 in Saaremaa, Estonia. He has been a carpet salesman, a university dropout, a backpacker and a painter. In 2006, he founded the production company Homeless Bob Production and directed his first short film. His debut feature SÜGISBALL premiered in Venice and won the Orizzonti Award in 2007.
