Bread and TV

Georgi Stoev
Bulgaria, 2013, 56 Min

The Roma settlement in the Bulgarian town of Kyustendil. One of this remarkable town's inhabitants wakes up at the break of dawn to deliver bread, whilst in the afternoons he runs the community's only TV station, 'Bobi TV'.

Cooganfilm

A journey through the multifaceted world of this Roma settlement; at once both fast-paced and relaxed, colourful and yet dreary, a place where music and dance coexist with boundless poverty and misery. In the middle of all this is Bobi, who with his unyielding energy merges these worlds into a whole greater than the sum of its parts. Ultimately life boils down to the three major questions: How do we want to live? How do we actually live? And when we reduce both questions to a common denominator, what does happiness actually mean?
