Naša svakodnevna priča

Our Everyday Life

Ines Tanović
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia, 2015, 89 Min

A feature film debut that speaks of the trials and tribulations of a modern day, middle-class family in Sarajevo and, in doing so, touches upon the political, economic and social issues that continue to trouble Bosnia and Herzegovina even today, twenty years after the war.

Twenty years ago Saša fought for the Bosnian army; today he's a divorced veteran who lives with his parents and occasionally calls his pregnant sister Senada, who lives in Slovenia. Although his mother Marija is critically ill, it's father Muhamed's inability to come to terms with sale of his company as well as his good-for-nothing son that is the real source of the family's problems. The post-traumatic stress of the war is ever present in this family portrait, with solace provided solely by the seemingly unremarkable details of everyday life. BW
