Poland, 2014, 90 Min

Warsaw, Poland's sprawling capital; a city in transition from an ever more remote past to an unknown future and its inhabitants, for many of whom the city's promised future remains merely a façade.

WFDiF - Documentary and Feature Film Studio

The fortunes of the little people that make up Warsaw, the sprawling Polish capital, with its chaotic admixture of tradition and modernity, the raw materials of which are steel, concrete, glass and wooden crosses. What speaks of a promising future for some represents nothing more than symbols devoid of meaning for others. No surprise therefore that the film was accused of “anti-Catholic tendencies” after its debut screening, not least due to one of its plot lines, the protagonist of which turns out to be a paedophile priest.
