Der Elefant von Hoyerswerda

THe Elephant from Hoyerswerda

Christian Lehmann
GDR, 1959, 13 Min

Filmuniversität Babelsberg „Konrad Wolf"

The silent, precisely framed black and white footage provided early evidence of the evolving signature style of pioneering director of photography Christian Lehmann, an approach which stood in strong contrast to the pathos-saturated film industry of the time. GL
