Herrmann‘s fi lm openly broaches the issue of
brown coal mining in the Lusatia, with the
concurrent destruction of the local Sorbian
population‘s cultural space. It takes cue from
the poems of Kito Lorenc and drawing from
these inspiration for the fi lm‘s imagery, editing
rhythm and subject matter.
