An apocalyptic state of emergency: only eight minutes remain until a total solar blackout occurs. Whilst the world around him descends into chaos Gia’s thoughts remain solely with his distant son. Does he have enough time on his hands to heal old wounds?

With a stoic calm Gia faces the storm gathering on his doorstep: all he wants is reconciliation with his son, who is currently on an Arctic expedition and thus has no premonition of the impending catastrophe. Only concerned with extending a gift to his son over the expanses that separate them, Gia’s composure appears almost enchanted: under the influence of his magic spell, the viewer is nevertheless struck by the contrast between the leading actor’s calm and the desolate circumstances that surround him.

Ably assisted by an easily understandable and yet multifaceted visual language directors Giorgi Gogichaishvili and Davit Abramishvili use their short film debut, to pay tribute to the importance of never losing sight of the magic of our remarkable planet. ST
