Únos

1994 hasn't long begun when Marta's brother is brutally murdered. With the police making little progress in getting to the bottom of the case, the young journalist resolves to take the investigation into her own hands. It is thus that she makes the acquaintance of the policeman Peter, himself tasked with investigating the kidnapping of the President's son and yet subject to obstruction on behalf of the Secret Service. Mafia involvement soon comes to light, and it would appear that Marta's brother was also complicit. The mastermind and organiser seems to still be at liberty however.

Čengelová-Solčanská interweaves real-life events with a fictional plotline. The impressive visuals and dynamic editing underscore the bleak and unsettling atmosphere characteristic of the period that immediately followed Slovak independence in 1993. CF
