The film delves into avant-garde art as a radicalised form of protest and resistance, toeing the line between vandalism and activism. Director Vladimir Turner highlights how different forms of plastic and audiovisual art provide political commentary on the crises caused by the urban development of Prague, a city beleaguered by profit-focused urban planning, which contributed to the replacement of its unique fabric with soulless residential blocks and commercial spaces resembling those in other major European cities, leading to inflated house prices, gentrification, excessive car use, and the disappearance of free and open spaces.
The spectrum of protest ranges from dismantling or paintballing billboards to repurposing them in new works, and to encouraging people to rediscover connections to nature and practices lost in the tide of boundless urbanisation. Turner, long engaged with issues such as mass tourism, consumerism, and ecological crisis, moves effortlessly between documentary film, public art, and activism – all under the idea of a vibrant civic community.

Vladimír Turner - Director's Biography: Vladimír Turner (1986) graduated from the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) in audiovisual studies, then he studied at the Studio of Intermedia Confrontation at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. He has been to study stays and residencies in Buenos Aires, Valencia, Nijmegen, Toulouse and Brisbane. In his works, he oscillates between documentary film, art in public space and activism. He does not perceive these fields as divided, trying to combine them within a whole he labels as active civic life. His works from around the world can be seen in the streets, on film screens and in galleries.
